About us

We at Shanthibhavan...

You need to know
how we builded this heaven...

Shanthibhavan, a home for the aged destitute, was conceptualised by St. Thomas Charitable Trust, in an effort to provide love and care for unwanted senior citizens. Situated in Red Hills, on the outskirts of Chennai in the southern state of Tamilnadu, India, the Home provides love and care to the destitute, literally picked up from the streets, with no thought of caste, creed or religion. We aim to make Shanthibhavan a haven for its' residents giving them security and calm in the twilight of their lives.

Goals of Home

So how Do we keep our inmates engaged !

We have demonstrated many novel and innovative ideas to mobilize income for the Trust. The
one-day meal scheme had encouraging response from the members and well wishers on their
birthdays, wedding days and memorial days of their beloved ones. Paddy cultivation around
Shanthibhavan was started and with that, requirement of six months rice for the inmates is
being met. Various types of seasonal vegetables were grown not only for the inmates but also
to sell to the local community at cheaper rates.
